Flower delivery in Karviná from an Ostrava florist
Karviná lies on the Olše River near the Polish border, about 18 kilometres east of Ostrava. On 1 January 2026, it had 50,666 residents.
Today's Karviná was formed on 1 January 1949 by the merger of Fryštát with surrounding municipalities, and historic Fryštát has been an urban conservation area since 1992. The Empire-style Fryštát Chateau, founded by the Piasts of Teschen, has been open to the public since its restoration in 1997. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross by the chateau is Karviná's oldest architectural monument; it was first mentioned in writing in 1376. The Leaning Church of St Peter of Alkantara in Karviná tilted 6.8 degrees south because of mining subsidence, and the ground beneath it fell by 37 metres.
NIKA is based in Ostrava and also delivers flowers to Karviná. It also delivers at weekends for Valentine's Day, International Women's Day and Mother's Day.
Flowers can be handed to the recipient at home, at work or in hospital. In Karviná, they can also be handed over at a school, university, public office or care home.
