Flower delivery to Krmelín from Ostrava

Krmelín is a municipality with Krmelínský kopec rising above it, with a water reservoir that supplies Ostrava. The hill is also shown on the municipality's coat of arms.

The first written mention of Krmelín dates to 9 January 1447 and is recorded in the fief book of the Bishopric of Olomouc. St John and Paul Church was consecrated in 1900 and belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Ostrava-Stará Bělá; the school building of T. G. Masaryk Primary School opened in 1930. The Vítězslav Mácha sports hall opened as a TJ Sokol hall in 1983 and is named after a local native who was an Olympic wrestling champion. Šindlerův dvůr, a restaurant and guesthouse, was created by converting a farmstead dating from 1852 and has operated since 2004.
