Rychaltice is part of the municipality of Hukvaldy.

The first record of Rychaltice dates to 1394; the village was originally called Bertholdesdorf. The Baroque Church of St Nicholas was built between 1726 and 1729 and consecrated in 1742. The masonry school building in Rychaltice, built in 1824 by Rudolf Jan, Archbishop of Olomouc, still stands today.
