Tísek lies about 4 km north of Bílovec. The municipality consists of the nearly joined parts of Tísek and Karlovice. Until 1964, Karlovice belonged to neighbouring Slatina and was a Moravian enclave in Silesia.

The first written mention of Tísek dates to 1377. The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Tísek, designed by architect Karel Kotas, was completed and consecrated in 1928. The municipal office also provides Czech POINT services. The municipality-run primary and nursery school in Tísek has a gym and a school garden.
